About Adult Division

ADULT DIVISION

The Adult Division offers a wide range of classes and levels to accommodate dancers of any age who wish to follow their passion for dance into adulthood. While classes are generally less formal, standards for training are equal to that of the Student Division, giving dancers the opportunity to continue to challenge themselves, whether or not they are planning for a career in dance. Adult Division classes range from beginner to advanced and are offered in ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz.

UNDERSTANDING THE BALLET JOURNEY

There are many factors of adult life that may cause dancers to move away from ballet life: school, work, a change in focus, family needs, finances, physical changes, etc. This can sometimes be difficult and frustrating, but the good news is that ballet will always be there when you’re ready to return.

Adult dancers tend to develop a more advanced and subtle appreciation for the artistry of ballet, for the mental and philosophical training it encompasses, especially after some time off. Ours is an artform that even the most dedicated professional could spend a lifetime exploring, deepening their understanding, and passing on their knowledge and experience to a younger generation. It’s never too late to continue on your ballet journey.

CLASS SCHEDULE

WHAT CLASSES TO TAKE

CCB offers ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz classes for adult students. To understand our class offerings more thoroughly, visit our CLASS DESCRIPTIONS.

CLASS PLACEMENT

While we do not necessarily place adult dancers in specific levels, we do encourage honest self-evaluation to choose the level that provides the best class experience. As an adult dancer, it’s important to continue to be challenged, but it’s also important to recognize when the level of the material prevents you from getting the most out of class. If we find that the level you are in isn’t a good fit, we may ask you to switch into a more level-appropriate class. If you have any questions about class levels, please email charmcityballet@gmail.com for assistance.

VIRTUAL CLASSES

Select classes may be available virtually upon email request. Students taking classes via Zoom will not get individualized corrections, because our instructors will be focusing on watching the students in the studio. Dancers may need to alter combinations in order to be able to perform them safely at home.

TRIAL CLASSES

Dancers may take a trial class before enrolling in a class. In order to set up your trial class, please email charmcityballet@gmail.com

2023-24 Classes: September 11, 2023 - June 2, 2024

Tuition & Payment Schedule

TUITION & PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Tuition listed is for the full school year. Tuition may be paid in full, in two equal installments, or in five equal installments. At the time of registration, a $30 Registration Fee is required. This annual Registration Fee is due one time per student each September – August. This fee is non-refundable.

Enrollment is complete when both the $30 Registration Fee and the first installment are made.

FINANCIAL POLICY

All payments are processed through the credit card in your Jackrabbit account. It is the responsibility of the student/parent/guardian listed as the billing contact to login to the Portal and make their own payment by the processing date(s) listed above. A $20 Late Fee will be assessed for payments not made by the due dates. Students with delinquent accounts will not be admitted to class or be eligible to register for additional programs until their account is current.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

Should a student desire to withdraw prior to the end of the Academic Year, Charm City Ballet must receive written notice, via email, stating the student’s name and the date the student will officially withdraw from the program. The student will be responsible for all tuition payments due until a written notice of withdrawal is received stating the date of withdrawal. Verbal notification of withdrawal will not be accepted.

REFUND POLICY

Tuition and Registration Fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable to another student or program. Students are eligible for a pro-rated tuition refund only if they withdraw from classes due to prolonged illness or severe injury, verified by a doctor’s certificate.

If in-studio classes need to switch to virtual classes, for any reason, TUITION WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

COLLEGE DISCOUNT

Full-time college students receive a 20% discount on class tuition. Proof of full-time enrollment must be given. This discount does not apply to Registration Fees or Drop-In Classes, although full-time college students also receive a discount on Drop-In Classes.

LATE REGISTRATIONS

CCB offers rolling admission, so late registrations for our annual program of classes are accepted if there is space in the class, and tuition will be prorated.

MAKE UP CLASSES

Students may take make-up classes (in another level-appropriate class) within the current school year only. Please email charmcityballet@gmail.com to schedule your make-up classes.

As stated above, the Adult Division unlimited tuition plan does include unlimited classes and drop-in classes for the full school year.
