For new students who are unsure about placement, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will help guide you to the correct class or will schedule an evaluation class to determine what level is appropriate for the student. Placement is determined according to age as well as performance. Each student is evaluated and promoted individually based on age, ability, attendance, and work habits.

Inclement Weather Policy
Charm City Ballet will often follow Baltimore County Public School closings; however, there are times when we will elect not to follow their closings. In the event of inclement weather or class cancellations for any other reason, we will send out an email notification and post it on our Facebook page. Announcements will be posted at least one hour before class time in the event of class cancellations. Please do not feel obligated to travel to class if you are uncomfortable with the weather conditions.
Charm City Ballet does not hold make-up classes, and no tuition reductions will be given for classes canceled due to inclement weather. When class is canceled due to inclement weather, students have the option to make up that class in any other class at their level or below.
Class Attendance/Make-Up Policy
Consistent attendance is critical to the progress of the student and is therefore expected at CCB. Students may take make-up classes (in another level-appropriate class) in their current session only. Classes missed during the fall session must be made up by the end of the fall session, and classes missed in the spring session must be made up by the end of the spring session). Make-up classes cannot be carried into the summer session or future years.
Students should arrive early in order to get dressed and prepare for class. Dancers are required to be on time, properly dressed, and ready to begin class at the start time. Students should use the two designated dancer areas to house their belongings, and dancers should wait in those rooms or the lobby until their scheduled class time. Any student who is not prepared for class because of lateness, behavior problems or inattention to the dress code may be asked by the teacher to sit and observe class instead of participating. All absences and/or tardiness should be communicated to the office prior to class. Students must be picked up in a timely fashion.
Students who are ill, but not contagious (headache, stomach ache, etc.), may observe class with the permission of their parent. If the student may be contagious, we ask that they stay home. Students who do not take class because of injury should seek the treatment of a medical professional. Students with injuries should take as much of each class as they can, modifying exercises if necessary.
Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The minimum enrollment is 3 students per class. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the class may be combined with a similar class or cancelled.
Private lessons and coaching are available by appointment. Please email the school, at , for scheduling, pricing and studio availability. At least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation must be given or the student will be charged for the full rate of the lesson.
