CLASS PLACEMENT

For new students who are unsure about placement, please contact us at charmcityballet@gmail.com. We will help guide you to the correct class or will schedule an evaluation class to determine what level is appropriate for the student. Placement is not solely determined based on age. Each student is evaluated and promoted individually based on age, ability, attendance, and work habits.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Charm City Ballet will often follow Baltimore County Public School closings; however, there are times when we will elect not to follow their closings. In the event of inclement weather or class cancellations for any other reason, we will send out an email notification and post it on our Facebook page. Announcements will be posted at least one hour before class time in the event of class cancellations. Please do not feel obligated to travel to class if you are uncomfortable with the weather conditions.

Charm City Ballet does not hold make-up classes, and no tuition reductions will be given for classes canceled due to inclement weather. When class is canceled due to inclement weather, students have the option to make up that class in any other class at their level or below.

CLASS ATTENDANCE & MAKE-UP POLICY

Consistent attendance is critical to the progress of the student and is therefore expected at CCB. Students must follow our strict drop off and pick up procedures. Dancers are required to be on time, properly dressed (following our dress code), and ready to begin class at the start time. All absences and/or tardiness must be communicated to the office, via email, prior to class. Students must be picked up in a timely fashion and in accordance with our pick-up procedures. If students are more than 10 minutes late, they may be asked, at the teacher’s discretion, to observe class for safety reasons.

Students may take make-up classes (in another level-appropriate class) in their current session only (school year or summer).

ILLNESS/INJURY POLICY

If you are experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19, please inform CCB via email and view our Quarantine & Isolation Protocols for specific procedures.

Students with injuries should seek treatment from a medical professional as soon as possible. Injuries left untreated can cause long-term damage and keep dancers from ever fully healing. Those unable to participate due to short term injury (less than 4 weeks), like strains, sprains, minor fractures, etc., should plan to watch class–and possibly take notes at the teacher’s discretion–whenever possible.

Those who are partially cleared should clarify their specific restriction(s) with the teacher before class and plan to modify or skip combinations as needed.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT

Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the class may be combined with a similar class or cancelled.

PRIVATE LESSONS/COACHING

Private lessons and coaching are available by appointment. Please email the school, at charmcityballet@gmail.com, for scheduling, pricing and studio availability. At least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation must be given or the student will be charged for the full rate of the lesson.
